Damn Small Linux (DSL) is a free and open-source computer operating system based on the Linux kernel. It is designed to be extremely small and light-weight, and is capable of running on a wide variety of hardware systems. DSL is designed to be a full-fledged desktop operating system in a very small package, making it ideal for use in embedded systems, diskless workstations, and thin clients. It is also suitable for use on older hardware systems and as a rescue disk for repairing or recovering other operating systems. DSL provides a full suite of applications, including a web browser, email client, text editor, file manager, and a wide range of other utilities. It also includes a variety of popular open-source software such as the Apache web server, MySQL database, and the GNU Compiler Collection. DSL is highly customizable and can be expanded with additional packages and applications. It is also fully compatible with other Linux distributions and can be used in conjunction with other operating systems.
Very small Linux distributive. It seems to be the best choice for an old computer and for a very cheap VPS.
