Xubuntu is an open source Linux-based operating system that is based on the popular Ubuntu distribution. Manjaro Linux has the point where it is easier to use than Xubuntu, in my opinion. Particularly in the XFCE (official) and MATE (community) builds, the pamac / pacman package manager is absolutely great to use and pulls software not only from Manjaro's repositories but from Arch's AUR, which has something like 60k+ software applications. Despite being Arch based, Manjaro is very easy to use and the community support is fantastic.
The user looking for an alternative to Xubuntu, does not want to install proprietary and heavy (= resource consuming) systems like Windows or MacOS (although Mac has a shell based on Linux BSD: Leopard).
Xubuntu is Ubuntu with the XFCE desktop. Ubuntu (and therefore Xubuntu) are based on Debian. Tails is also based on Debian. But Tails is intended more for accessing the Internet anonymously than normal desktop computers. It usually runs it from a USB stick on untrusted computers. It comes with the old KDE desktop.
Lubuntu and Xubuntu are Ubuntu under the hood. The difference is that they come with different desktop environments (LXDE and XFCE, respectively). LXDE is even lighter on system resources than XFCE, so it should run better on REALLY old / slow computers. But that's about it.
Kubuntu and Xubuntu are below Ubuntu. They differ from each other (and from Ubuntu) only by the default desktop they come with (and some applications that are part of them). Kubuntu comes with KDE Plasma 5, which is more modern, Xubuntu comes with XFCE, which is faster on older / slower computers. If you want KDE Plasma, go for KDE Neon instead of Kubuntu: it updates faster.
It has a very similar user interface and experience and is even more secure and flexible. It is probably the most secure operating system at the moment, but has higher requirements for the user and the system used.
