Amarok is a free and open source audio player for Linux, OS X, and Windows. It is developed by the KDE community, and has been in development since 2002. Amarok is an advanced music player with many features, such as a powerful tag editor, an integrated lyrics database, support for many audio formats, and a modern, intuitive interface. Amarok is also highly customizable, allowing users to create their own custom playlists, download artwork, and even stream audio from remote sources. Amarok also offers a wide variety of extensions, allowing users to further customize their experience.
VLC has a completely different use case profile. Amarok is a managed audio player, VLC is a versatile but simple audio and video player.
It has all the necessary features, it's free, it supports last.fm, it supports large libraries, it's a definite winner.
GUI is much better and clearer in Windows
based on Qt and KDE libraries based on Amarok 1, runs on Linuxfast, uses very few memory features, services and extensions that work properly, few UI paradigms UI paradigm and interaction design

Lacks sophisticated functionality for managing music libraries.
