VSCodium is an open-source and freely available version of Microsoft's popular Visual Studio Code (VS Code) text editor. It is built using the same source code and features as VS Code, but does not include any proprietary Microsoft software or services. VSCodium is designed to provide an open source, cross-platform development environment for users of any language and framework. It supports a wide range of programming languages, including C, C++, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, and more. Additionally, VSCodium provides an integrated debugger, code linters, syntax highlighting, and IntelliSense code completion capabilities. The editor also supports version control systems including Git, Mercurial, and Subversion. Additionally, VSCodium includes built-in support for the Node.js runtime environment and the Electron framework.
Discontinued Aptana is still under development on GitHub but the latest version, 3.6.1, was released in October 2014. It lacks Java 8/9 features, as well as more recent JavaScript and HTML 5 features.
