Aunque el sitio web y los foros están abiertos, xPud no se ha actualizado desde 2009. Los foros también están muertos (cierta actividad en 2011, una publicación única en 2012). Recuerdo haber ejecutado xPud durante mis días de netbook (me decidí por Puppy) pero pensé que se veía prometedor. Imaginé un sistema de tipo kiosco para los no expertos en tecnología, así como una interfaz de usuario útil para este tipo de usuarios. Dados los problemas de seguridad con cualquier sistema operativo en el que no se está trabajando activamente (mucho menos uno que vio su última actualización hace 7 años ), probablemente no sea una buena idea ejecutarlo en línea.
