OpenSUSE is a free and open source computer operating system developed by the community-supported openSUSE Project. It is a Linux-based operating system designed for PC, server, and embedded systems, and is used by millions of users worldwide. The openSUSE Project is sponsored by SUSE, a German-based company that is the world's largest independent open source software provider. OpenSUSE is a versatile operating system that offers both a desktop and server operating system, as well as a range of tools and applications for software development. It includes a package manager, repository, and several development tools and applications, such as the GNU Compiler Collection, the GCC compiler, and the Eclipse IDE. It also includes a wide range of applications, including office suites, web browsers, multimedia players, and games. OpenSUSE is suitable for both novice and expert users, and is highly customizable. It supports a wide range of hardware and software, as well as numerous third-party applications. It also offers an easy-to-use graphical user interface. OpenSUSE is regularly updated and supported by a dedicated community of users, developers, and contributors.
Fedora and OpenSuse are both excellent distributions. What makes Fedora more similar to OpenSuse is that they both use .rpm software packages. Fedora's default desktop is Gnome 3, in contrast to OpenSuse's KDE Plasma. But, of course, you can install any desktop you want in either case.
