Now, it does support saving encrypted files to local storage. But it does need an internet connection. So even local storage cannot be decrypted without an internet connection, I don't understand why, in my opinion, encryption/decryption of local storage should not depend on internet connection.

Solo lo he probado en Windows 10, para el cifrado completo del sistema, pero funciona realmente bien. Actualmente estoy usando TrueCrypt en todas mis máquinas, pero es probable que esté migrando lentamente a VeraCrypt. Es (por supuesto) muy similar a TrueCrypt, lo cual es genial si estás acostumbrado a TrueCrypt. Las dos desventajas actuales, para mí, son la falta de soporte UEFI / GPT (pero están trabajando en ello) y el molesto PIM. Sí, entiendo cómo y por qué de la PIM, pero para mí solo es molesto, para el cifrado del sistema. Sin embargo, creo que leí en algún lugar que el PIM se puede almacenar sin cifrar en el sector de arranque, por lo que no tengo que escribirlo todo el tiempo. Un compromiso aceptable, si es correcto.

Me he encontrado con un problema importante en el que perdí el acceso a la bóveda que he creado. Esto ha causado una gran cantidad de inconvenientes. He intentado contactar al (los) desarrollador (es) varias veces con respecto a este problema sin respuesta alguna. La bóveda no se montaría, simplemente poner. El problema se discute en línea y la solución alternativa propuesta en los foros no funciona. Esta aplicación se utiliza para mantener los archivos seguros. Si la posibilidad de perder los archivos es lo suficientemente común como para ser discutida en los foros, eso es un gran inconveniente. He sido un usuario feliz desde los días de TrueCrypt.
