Ratpoison is a lightweight and minimalist window manager designed to be used with a keyboard. It works with the X Window System, and is available for Linux, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD. Ratpoison is designed to provide an easy-to-use but powerful environment for day-to-day work. It uses a keystroke-driven user interface that is designed to be fast and efficient. Ratpoison provides no graphical user interface (GUI) elements, such as icons, menus, or toolbars. Instead, all operations are performed from a text-based command line interface. Ratpoison can be used to manage windows and applications, as well as providing keyboard shortcuts for common tasks. It is also highly configurable, and can be used with multiple virtual desktops.
