Lo estoy ejecutando en Windows 7. Es el único software gratuito (y de código abierto) que he encontrado que puede manejar metadatos XMP con archivos png. Esto es algo que incluso photoshop no puede manejar actualmente basándose correctamente en los fuegos artificiales y el puente. Básicamente, esto significa que puedo etiquetar todas mis imágenes en formato png y mantener metadatos con los archivos, de modo que si, por ejemplo, subo alguna a Flickr, se mantengan las etiquetas, la descripción y el título. ¡Fantástico! También he encontrado el software muy intuitivo y me acostumbré a él mucho más rápido que Picasa, que he descartado a favor de esto.

Hay demasiadas cosas que no funcionan en la versión de Windows. Estoy usando la versión más reciente 6.0.0 y muchos cuadros de diálogo / campos simplemente no hacen nada cuando haces clic en ellos. (Sí, incluso en el editor de metadatos). Incluso las cosas que sí funcionaron en Beta no funcionan ahora. Afirman que maneja archivos de audio y video. Lo que realmente quieren decir es que mostrará una miniatura y las reproducirá. No puede editar ninguno de los metadatos para estos tipos de archivos que no sean las etiquetas internas digiKam, como las etiquetas. Pero no escribirá esas etiquetas ni en los metadatos del archivo ni en un archivo .XMP externo. Entonces, el trabajo que haces en digiKam solo está disponible en digiKam, y si su base de datos se corrompe, estás jodido.
