Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC is a digital photography and photo editing software application developed by Adobe Systems. It is used by both professional and amateur photographers to organize, edit, manage, and share digital images. The app provides an array of powerful tools for organizing, sorting, and editing photos, including cropping, color correction, and basic retouching. It also includes a library of over 20,000 digital filters, textures, and effects, allowing users to customize their photos with the perfect look. Additionally, Lightroom CC provides a platform for photographers to share and collaborate on projects, as well as upload and store their images in the cloud. With Lightroom CC, photographers are able to capture, enhance, and share their memories with ease.
Powerful RAW processor with options that even Lightroom doesn't have.
The best alternative to Lightroom as a professional photographer.
Almost exactly the same characteristics/behaviorBetter noise reduction capabilities, especially the sensor profile add-ons.
Same as Lightroom, but the organization is not too simple.
Lack of skills to organize Lightroom photos
Darktable lacks any photo organization capability. They consider this a feature and state that you must organize them on a disk outside the application. This is a rather silly idea since inside the application you can't organize them, and outside the application you can't see the changes. Any comparison to Lightroom in this case is silly. 1/2 the capability (organize and develop) is gone.
Database functionality: many other pieces of software mentioned are good for RAW processing but few, if any, have a good structured back-end for organizing photos.
digiKam is a photo management, while lightroom is a raw photo editor, they have nothing in common.
Graphic editor, without organizational capabilities.
Affinity Photo is an alternative to Photoshop, not Lightroom. Affinity Photo cannot do batch photo editing at this time.
Quite advanced control over RAW processing including demosaicing algorithm, gamma curves, etc. Supports your own profiles and presets.
The same professional RAW editing results. Perpetual license option.
Advanced RAW editing features. Layer support, advanced color management. Fast processing. Perpetual license option. Catalog or session options for dealing with photos.
Very easy to use tool, a bit limited, but a very well thought out set of tools, and how they work. I stick with my favorite tool (easy to use, does what I want, good results).
Ui simpler and lighter than lightroom
It is only for smartphones and tablets.
Insufficient editing toolset, clunky facial recognition, requires iCloud subscription for some features.
It's a ridiculous app. you can't filter between landscape and portrait! Unusable.
I love it, easy to understand at first sight.
Lightweight, powerful alternative to Lightroom without the price tag
Great editing power, great organizational power, no subscriptions. The few areas where it lacks will not make a difference to the home user.
