Denwer is a software package created to simplify the process of setting up a local web server on a personal computer. It is designed to make it easy for web developers to test their applications and websites before they are uploaded to a remote server. Denwer includes a web server (Apache), a database server (MySQL), and a scripting language (Perl). It also includes a library of useful web applications, such as phpMyAdmin for managing databases, and FileZilla for FTP file transfers. All of these components can be installed and configured quickly, allowing web developers to focus on their development work rather than the technical aspects of setting up a web server. Denwer also includes a user-friendly web interface for managing the components and configuring the web server.
Discontinued The program is no longer updated. The latest version, 8.6, released in September 2013, can still be downloaded from Mediafire.
