RipperX is a free and open source software application designed to help users convert audio CDs into a variety of formats, including MP3, Ogg, Musepack, and WAV. It is available for both Windows and Mac platforms. The RipperX program is simple and easy to use, and allows users to customize their settings for each individual track. It also features a handy “Preview” button that allows users to listen to the track before it is converted. The program also allows users to edit track information such as artist, album, and year. Additionally, RipperX offers an integrated CDDB (Compact Disc Database) lookup option, which allows users to easily add track information to their music files.
The discontinued development seems to be stopped. The latest version, 0.9.1, released in August 2009, can still be downloaded from the official website.
