Rubyripper is an open source, cross-platform digital audio extraction (DAE) application designed for extracting audio from CD-ROMs. It uses the AccurateRip and cdparanoia libraries to ensure maximum accuracy in extracting audio from CDs. It features a multi-threaded, parallel ripping process and a wide range of output formats. It is capable of extracting audio in WAV, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and MP3 formats, as well as encoding audio in LAME (MP3). Additionally, it can create cue sheets, log files, and provide basic audio editing functions. It can also embed metadata (album art, artist, track title, etc.) into the output file. Rubyripper is a great choice for users who want to extract the highest quality audio from their CDs.

Discontinued The project is no longer being developed. The latest version, 0.2.3, released in July 2014, can still be downloaded from GitHub.
Rubyripper can safely rip cds, but the sound ripper doesn't care if the cd has been placed in a ripper first, so you can't be sure that the rips are accurate.
