No Man's Sky is an action-adventure survival game developed and published by Hello Games. It was released for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in August 2016, and for Xbox One in July 2018. It is set in an infinite procedurally generated universe, and the player takes the role of a traveller who explores its various planets and solar systems, gathering resources and discovering new life forms. No Man's Sky features a vast array of unique planets and environments to explore. Players can explore the surfaces of these planets, build bases, and visit space stations. Players can also trade with various merchants, upgrade their ship, and engage in space combat with pirates and other aggressive aliens. Additionally, players can collect resources to craft items as well as upgrade their ship and equipment. The game also features an expansive online multiplayer component, enabling players to join forces or compete against each other in a variety of activities. Players can form factions, build and customize their own bases, and explore the galaxy together. No Man's Sky also offers a variety of online missions and challenges, with the opportunity to earn rewards and prizes.
They are completely different genres, different game mechanics, honestly they have almost nothing in common.
No Man's Sky, no matter how badly I did it, was also about spaceships and controlling them. Starbound is just about creating and exploring, not to mention it's a 2D game.
The concept of the game is quite similar. Concepts like space exploration and procedural universe tie these two games together. If you like those things, consider the Starbound game as a good 2D alternative to No Man's Sky.
Good story, good player base and not full of errors.
The graphics aren't as pretty as No Man's Sky, but this is what No Man's Sky was supposed to be.
It contains all the promised features and more. And they're actually there. All of them. Including multiplayer
