Starbound is an action-adventure game developed by Chucklefish Games. It is set in a procedurally generated 2D universe, where the player takes on the role of a character who has fled their home planet. The player is given the task of gathering resources, building a base, and exploring the universe as they progress through the game. Starbound features a variety of diverse environments, from planets with lush forests, to ones filled with lava and magma. Players can also explore space stations and dungeons, engage in space combat, and build settlements. Players can customize their character, ship, and base with various items, blocks, furniture, and objects. The game also features an online multiplayer mode, where players can collaborate, compete, or simply explore the universe together.
It is almost the same without spaceships.

Discontinued In October 2013, the development was stopped and the source code is available on Github. In May 2016 the developer is planning to revisit the project.
