MPC-HC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) is an open-source audio and video player for Windows. It was originally based on the popular Media Player Classic application for Microsoft Windows, but has since been completely rewritten and is now completely free and open-source. It is the best media player in my opinion. It is lightweight, minimalistic and supports almost every media format under the sun. It has already replaced VLC and Windows Media Player on my PC.
Plays all video files + Has a simple and neat GUI + Easy on CPU and battery: a little harder to configure than other media players.
SMPlayer lacks the features and the feel of MPC-HC
Very similar to MPC-HC in terms of features, and very customizable as well, even though it is lightweight anyway. It includes one of my favorite features of MPC-HC, which is the subtitle search and download function for the video file you are watching.
It is more complete than the MPC and has the same performance.
It supports all formats and the color quality is also the best. It is the best media player in the world.
Lacks a feature of MPC-HC, the last time I used it, is time saving on the position of played videos, I find it quite important and yet I never saw any effort from them to adopt this feature.
