Vivaldi is amazing, it just has everything I like in Firefox, with the speed of the webkit engine! It accepts chrome extensions. Sync support should be added soon. It's better than Chrome for sure. If it were open source, it would also be better than Firefox.

As Firefox becomes more and more bloated, Pale Moon is lightweight, offers stability and compatibility with FF extensions (for now, due to web extensions). It also works very well with many tabs (400 or more).
So far, Pale Moon gives me the features that I wish Firefox had disabled and will soon be completely removed in Firefox 57. Firefox 57 will be a boat anchor similar to Chrome. Pale Moon is very stable, lightweight and fast.

It depends on what you want from a Firefox alternative. Waterfox is essentially identical to Firefox, except that it's a 64-bit browser, not a 32-bit browser. It's still open source and fully compatible with all the options, extensions and everything else.

Opera has so many new features in the new update. 42 comes with new sidebar, new animations and more features and has a very nice design.
Currently (March 2017), Brave is not a mature project. It's a privacy-oriented open source browser and very fast. But you rely on the developers to provide most privacy settings, and you can't install extensions. Firefox is still much more customizable through the settings menu options.

Excellent user support, requires less memory than the official 64-bit Firefox or Waterfox (based on my system), and works with Firefox Sync.
Even though Chromium is an "open source", it still downloads Google-related downloads and Google phones. If you value your online privacy, you'll appreciate the Ungogled Chromium browser, which eliminates all that. However, Firefox is still more customizable in terms of privacy options.
