Cmder is a command line emulator for Windows. It is designed to be a better alternative to the default Windows command prompt, providing a more powerful and flexible interface for users. It combines the best of both worlds of command line and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), allowing users to easily manage both files and commands. It also has many features and customization options, such as multiple tabs, a powerful search tool, syntax highlighting, and a highly customizable color scheme. It is not a terminal for the Windows machine itself.
PuTTY is an ssh client to connect to another computer. cmder is a local terminal application.
cmder is based on conemu and they have many similarities.
