AppleJack is an open source utility program designed to help Mac users diagnose and repair issues with their operating system. It is designed to be a lightweight, easy to use, and highly effective tool to help repair a wide variety of common problems. AppleJack can be used to repair disk permissions, clean caches, repair disk errors, repair startup items and system-related problems, as well as general troubleshooting. AppleJack can also be used to repair and update software, install fonts, and reset user accounts. Additionally, AppleJack has a command-line interface for advanced users who want to customize their system and save time by automating tasks.
Discontinued The project is not being actively developed. Although still working and fine, the latest version, 15.2, was released in 2012.
