Description

OpenVZ is an open source virtualization technology for running multiple isolated Linux containers (known as "Virtual Environments" or "VEs") on a single physical server. It has largely been adopted by hosting providers and end users due to its scalability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness. OpenVZ is similar to a hypervisor (like VMWare or Xen), but it has a much smaller footprint and is much simpler to manage. OpenVZ allows each VE to run its own configuration, including its own operating system, software, and applications. Each VE can be configured to run independently and securely, as if it were running on its own dedicated server. This makes it easy to quickly deploy multiple applications or services on a single server, while still keeping them isolated and secure. OpenVZ also offers resource management features that allow you to control how much of the server's resources (CPU, RAM, disk space, etc.) each VE can access. This makes it easy to ensure that each VE has the resources it needs to run properly. OpenVZ is a great option for hosting providers who need to provide a scalable, cost-effective solution for their customers. It is also a great option for end users who need to run multiple applications or services on a single server.
