Description

MicMac is a free and open-source software application that enables users to create, edit, and manipulate aerial photographs, satellite imagery, and digital maps. It is used by civil engineers, geographers, cartographers, architects, and other professionals in fields such as urban planning, archeology, and resource management. The software enables users to create orthophotos (distorted images corrected for distortion) and digital elevation models (DEMs) from aerial photographs. It also provides tools for creating 3D models from satellite imagery and for georeferencing and mosaicking aerial photographs. The application has a variety of features, including support for multiple input formats, image rectification and georeferencing, stereo-pairing, object identification, and image processing. MicMac is available as a stand-alone application and also as a web service.
