En primer lugar, permítame darle una descripción general de dónde uso el Proyecto Merlin. Soy gerente de proyectos en una empresa que trabaja en el sector de la aerodinámica. Nuestra empresa emplea a más de 50 personas. ¡Usamos Merlin para planificar, monitorear y visualizar todos nuestros proyectos y ha sido la mejor decisión para hacerlo de esa manera! No quiero volver a la época en que, para nosotros, Merlín era solo un mago en la saga de Arturo. Empezamos a usar Merlin hace 5 años. Antes de ese tiempo, nuestra empresa utilizaba Excel para planificar nuestros proyectos. Todavía recuerdo ese momento como el tiempo más caótico de nuestra empresa. Demasiadas personas trabajaron en las mismas partes, mientras que otros aspectos fueron ignorados y algunas veces no sucedieron en absoluto. Tuvimos que cambiar nuestra forma de tratar los proyectos.
Ya que nos negamos a trabajar en Windows, no podíamos usar el poderoso MS Project, así que tuvimos que buscar un programa en Mac OS X. Luego encontramos a Merlin: la versión más reciente de Merlin, llamada Merlin Project, es exactamente lo que necesitabamos En general, cuenta con una excelente GUI, que es extremadamente intuitiva en su uso. Además, me encantan las opciones de visualización para Gantt Charts, Mindmaps, WBS, ... Se asemeja a MS Project debido a sus muchas características y su potente estado general. Personalmente, me encanta el diseño "Apple-esque", así que prefiero el Proyecto Merlin en lugar de MS Office en cualquier momento. Dado que trabajamos juntos en equipos, la función de sincronización es vital para nosotros. Se ha mejorado mucho en los últimos años y funciona realmente genial
Ni siquiera necesariamente necesitas una computadora, ya que también hay una versión móvil. Así que incluso puedes ajustar el proyecto sobre la marcha. En ese contexto, también debo resaltar el tema de la utilización: si utiliza una Mac y realiza una planificación seria del proyecto, es el cliente más sólido disponible. Aunque es bastante caro, debo decir que vale cada centavo.
