KolourPaint is a free, open-source, KDE-based digital painting and image editing application. It is designed to be easy to use and feature-rich, making it ideal for both hobbyists and professionals. It features a wide range of tools, including painting and drawing tools, layers, color selection, and support for a variety of image formats. It also provides an intuitive interface and a full suite of features, such as crop, rotate, flip, resize, and many more. It is suitable for a variety of tasks, including digital painting, photo editing, and web design. KolourPaint is available for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Microsoft announced that Paint is officially discontinued with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. However, the latest version of the program will still be usable in Windows 10.
KolourPaint can do some interesting things, like convert an image to grayscale and (if memory serves) rotate the RGB values of the image. Microsoft Paint can't do that intuitively. I already have Microsoft Paint on my computer, and the reason I came here was to look for something that can at least convert an image to grayscale while keeping the interface simple and intuitive.
The last discontinued version, 8.1, was released on May 24, 2007.
