GiNaC (short for “GiNaC is Not a CAS”) is a general-purpose C++ library written for the symbolic manipulation of special functions and algebraic expressions. It is used to create and manipulate symbolic expressions, solve equations, and factor polynomials. The library also provides a powerful C++ programming interface for creating user-defined functions and classes. GiNaC is designed for use in scientific and mathematical computing applications, such as computer algebra systems, and is used in a variety of applications, such as computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). GiNaC is open source and available for use on various platforms, including Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. GiNaC is also available as part of the SageMath open source mathematics software suite.
