FCIV (File Checksum Integrity Verifier) is a free command line utility that allows users to compute and verify checksums of files. It is especially useful for verifying the integrity of files downloaded from the internet, as the checksums can be used to determine that the file has not been corrupted or tampered with during transit. FCIV can generate and save checksums in either text or XML format. It also supports multiple algorithms including MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256. FCIV is a useful tool for system administrators, developers, security professionals and home users alike.
