Destiny 2 is an action role-playing video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It is the sequel to the 2014 game, Destiny, and its subsequent expansions. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2017, followed by a Microsoft Windows version the following month. Players assume the role of a Guardian, defending the last safe city on Earth from alien threats.
