Description

Darkstat is an open-source network traffic analyzer that captures network traffic, calculates statistics about usage, and serves reports over HTTP. It can run as a background daemon or from the command line. It supports multiple interfaces, including Ethernet and PPP devices, and can capture traffic on a variety of media types. Darkstat can produce both textual and graphical reports, and includes a web-based interface. It can provide detailed statistics about traffic patterns, including the number of connections, the amount of data transferred, and the most active hosts. It can also generate reports on user-defined criteria, including source and destination IP addresses, ports, and protocols. Additionally, Darkstat can detect potential network intrusions and provide alerts when suspicious traffic is detected.
