CMU Common Lisp (CMUCL) is a high-performance implementation of the Common Lisp programming language designed to run on a variety of platforms. It offers a rich set of features such as garbage collection, dynamic typing, and a wide range of libraries and compiler optimizations. It is an open source project and is free for commercial and non-commercial use. CMUCL is written in C and runs on several platforms, including Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. It is the only open-source Common Lisp system to have been used in production for many years. CMUCL is well-suited to web application development. It can be used to create web-based applications such as web servers, database-driven web sites, and dynamic web pages. It has a comprehensive set of libraries and tools for web application development, including an HTML generator and a JavaScript interface. CMUCL also provides support for the popular open source database systems such as PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MySQL. In addition, CMUCL offers excellent support for the popular open source web frameworks such as Rails, Django, and Node.js.
