Battlefield is a first-person shooter video game series developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The series has been around since 2002 and has become one of the most popular and critically acclaimed first-person shooter games in the industry. Battlefield games are set in various historical, fictional, and post-apocalyptic worlds and feature large-scale battles between teams of up to 64 players. The main focus of the series is on large-scale combat and the use of vehicles to traverse the battlefield.
