Adobe Dreamweaver is a popular web design and development software created by Adobe Systems. It is used to create and manage websites, as well as develop and manage web applications. It offers powerful tools to create and edit HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web languages. It also offers a range of integrated applications and services to help speed up the development process. Dreamweaver has an intuitive user interface and a wide range of features to make it easier to create and manage websites. It supports multiple languages, offers integration with other Adobe products, and includes powerful debugging and testing tools. Dreamweaver is a great choice for web developers, web designers, and webmasters looking for a powerful and easy-to-use web design and development tool.
I agree with the above statement "It's probably good for developers, but Dreamweaver is made for designers, and VSC is not a design program".
Visual Studio code is not WYSIWYG.
Visual Studio code is not a good alternative to Adobe Dreamweaver
I use it a lot for JavaScript, less for CSS and HTML5 but it will definitely do the trick, the only drawback I see with VS Code is that there is no visual panel like in Dreamweaver, you have to implement and use IE, Chrome, Moz, Etc. to see their HTML, I think this is a pain for small changes in HTML and CSS, BUT IT IS FREE....
No doubt, Adobe Dreamweaver is a professional tool, but Visual Studio Code got something special that makes it stand out in the field. Here I have the perfect proof. Read here and create: http://blog.templatetoaster.com/dreamweaver-alternative-micorsoft-visual-studio-code/
Live preview, smart completion and the best part is that it highlights the current section we are editing live.
Extensibility and only uft8 encoded files supported (advantage for me)
Dreamweaver is made for designers. It is a WYSIWYG editor and brackets are not.
Support is for professional users.
Many similar features and simpler user interface
Pretty garbage It's just a fancy text editor. It even supports multiple open files. No preview. Very poor - and buggy.
It is an ide, but not made for front-end.
There is no way to preview or format the contents using the preview. You use vi + LaTeX instead, at least it works as documented.
No preview, no need for code development tools, not even closing tags.
Discontinued Aptana is still under development on GitHub but the latest version, 3.6.1, was released in October 2014. It lacks Java 8/9 features, as well as more recent JavaScript and HTML 5 features.
Best of all is probably its active community.
Dreamweaver is made for designers. It is a WYSIWYG editor and Coda is a text editor.
You can do much more in WebStorm than in Dreamweaver!
Very fast - simple - open source - works perfectly on Linux
Very poor HTML that helps macros, without any simple common error detection. No preview at all. The only good thing is that it is the only open source HTML editor where code highlighting works, but Dreamweaver has a few more features. A lot more.
No preview, no HTML-compatible features.
This is the only open source program that ATTEMPTS to be like Dreamweaver. It has a very small amount of features, but the core features like live preview or split mode are present. Unfortunately, the plugin API is intentionally complicated so that users buy plugins and not write their own.
Like Dreamweaver, BlueGriffon is a program created to help us create websites.
Discontinued The project seems to be discontinued. The last stable version, 0.7.10, was released in 2007 and the last development version, 0.8b3, in 2010, but the program can still be downloaded from the official website.
Like Dreamweaver, Kompozer is a program created to help us create websites.
It is an excellent design tool for people who are not the best in HTML.
Discontinued Appears to be abandoned. The last release was January 2016
This is more JS IDE than the normal page editor. Writing any page containing text is difficult, as it doesn't allow you to focus on the text. One good thing: HTML highlighting works very well.
Discontinued As of September 2015, Microsoft Expression Web is no longer developed or supported. The latest version, 4.0.1460.0, released in December 2012, is still available for download from the Microsoft Download Center.

It's probably good for developers, but Dreamweaver is made for designers, and VSC is not a design program.
