AdAway is an open source ad blocker for Android. It uses the hosts file to redirect traffic from known ad servers and websites to a local web server. This means that when a user visits a website, instead of loading the ads, the browser will load a blank page. This helps to reduce the amount of data used and make web pages load faster. AdAway also blocks tracking scripts, cookies, and other intrusive content. It is available for free on the Google Play Store.
Discontinued The link to the extension no longer exists. It was probably discontinued after legacy extension support was dropped in Firefox.
Discontinued The project seems to be no longer developed. The latest version, v0.9.5.2, released in June 2015, can still be downloaded from the official website.
