It is an extended version of the Bourne shell, with new features to make it easier to use, such as command line completion, improved command line history, and a built-in command-line editor. It is highly configurable, allowing users to customize their environment with themes and plugins, as well as add new features and commands. Zsh is available for multiple platforms, including Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
