Yakuake is an open source terminal emulator for Linux and Unix operating systems. It provides a drop-down console that can be used for running command line tools such as bash and ssh. Yakuake provides a convenient way to access a powerful command line interface without leaving the current desktop session. It has a tabbed interface that allows users to quickly switch between different command line sessions. Yakuake also supports multiple profiles which allows users to customize the look and feel of the terminal window. Additionally, users can customize the colors, font, and key bindings to suit their needs. Yakuake also provides a range of plugins and extensions that can be used to extend the functionality of the terminal.

This is not a "drop-down" terminal.
The split screen doesn't work the same. It's more like the Konsole clone than Yakuake.

yakuake emulates the behavior of the earthquake terminal (crashes). it does no such thing.
