Description

Wolfenstein is an action-adventure first-person shooter video game series published by Bethesda Softworks and developed by id Software. The series focuses on the fictional Nazi character, William "B.J." Blazkowicz, and his fight against the Nazis in World War II. The series consists of nine main installments, as well as several spin-off games. The first two games in the series, Wolfenstein 3D (1992) and Spear of Destiny (1992), are both set in World War II and follow Blazkowicz in his mission to thwart the Nazis. The series then shifted to an alternate timeline with Wolfenstein (2009) and continued in the same vein with The New Order (2014) and The Old Blood (2015). The most recent installment, Youngblood (2019), is set in the 1980s and follows Blazkowicz's twin daughters, Jess and Soph, in their mission to save their father. The games are uniformly characterized by their intense action, first-person shooter mechanics, and exploration of alternate history. All of the games in the series feature fast-paced and intense combat against a variety of Nazi enemies, as well as a wide range of weapons and power-ups. They also feature a variety of puzzles and secrets to discover, as well as hidden areas and alternate paths.
