WinMTR is an open-source application that allows users to track and troubleshoot the performance of a network connection. It combines the functionality of two popular tools, the traceroute and ping utilities. WinMTR sends a series of ICMP echo request packets to the target host, and then displays a graphical table of the individual hops in the route, along with the response times of each hop. This allows users to easily identify poor network performance, network congestion, or routing issues. WinMTR also provides several other features, such as the ability to save the results of traceroutes, export data to text files, and even integrate with other networking tools.
Nmap is a much larger toolset than just a traceroute: WinMTR is designed to do traceroutes quickly and effectively, not a complete analysis
Extremely versatile tool with a multitude of uses beyond tracking and pinging functions.
Discontinued The program is no longer available on the site, but you can still download it with the direct link.
Nmap is a port scanning and security tool. Although it can ping and traceroute, it is very different from MTR and WinMTR.
