MTR (My Traceroute) is a network diagnostic tool that combines the functionality of the traceroute and ping programs in one network diagnostic tool. It can find the route packets take across an IP network and measure transit delays of each hop. It allows users to identify the source of network issues and helps them to resolve them. MTR can also measure the packet loss rate of each hop and show the exact time taken for the packets to reach its destination. It is an open source tool available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. MTR is useful for network administrators, webmasters and system administrators who need to troubleshoot network problems, monitor network performance, and analyze network routes.
