Warframe is a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter video game developed and published by Digital Extremes for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Warframe puts the player in the role of a Tenno, a race of ancient warriors wielding powerful exo-armor known as Warframes. With their Warframes, the Tenno must fight the Grineer, a race of militarized and deteriorated human clones; the Corpus, a mega-corporation with advanced robotics and laser technology; and the Infested, disfigured victims of a technological plague. The game is set in an open world environment, and the player's goal is to complete missions—linear scenarios with set objectives—to progress through the story. These missions can take place in a variety of locations, including open world environments, and they can involve a variety of objectives, such as fighting hostile enemies, collecting resources, and rescuing allies. Players can also undertake a variety of side missions and explore the environment to find additional resources and hidden secrets. In addition to the cooperative multiplayer mode, Warframe also features competitive multiplayer modes such as Conclave, where players can battle one another in various game types. The game also features an in-game store where players can purchase new Warframes, weapons, and other items to customize their Tenno.
