Description

Wake-on-LAN (WoL) is a network standard that allows a computer to be remotely powered up over a network. It is typically used by IT professionals to remotely access and manage desktop computers, servers, and other network-connected devices. The technology works by sending a specially-formatted packet, known as a Magic Packet, over the local area network (LAN). When the Magic Packet is received, the computer or device is powered up and can be accessed and managed from a remote location. Wake-on-LAN is a widely used technology and is supported by most network hardware, operating systems, and third-party applications.
