VirtuaNES is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) emulator for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. Developed by Japanese programmer Norix, VirtuaNES is designed to enable users to play NES games on their computer as if it were an actual NES console. The emulator supports all NES mappers, as well as support for Famicom Disk System and VS Unisystem. It also supports a wide variety of graphics and sound plugins, allowing users to customize the emulator experience to their liking. VirtuaNES also supports online play, enabling users to challenge each other over the Internet. Finally, the emulator also supports cheat codes, allowing users to unlock hidden secrets or hidden content in their NES games.
