UnicodeChecker is an application (or website) which helps users to identify and troubleshoot problems related to Unicode characters. Unicode is a universal character encoding standard used for representing text in digital documents. UnicodeChecker helps users to quickly detect and solve issues related to encoding, display, and typing of Unicode characters. It provides a comprehensive set of tools for analyzing text data, including a visualizer, an analyzer, a converter, a search engine, and an editing tool. It can be used to quickly identify and resolve issues related to incorrect display of characters in different fonts, incorrect encoding, and incorrect typing. It can also be used to find characters in different languages and to convert between different character sets.
Discontinued The project is no longer being developed and maintained. The latest version, v5.0.181beta, released in February 2009, can still be downloaded from SourceForge.
UnicodeChecker is much more than a mere "choose a character from this map".
