Spek is an open-source audio and music application that offers an interactive way to analyze, visualize and compare sounds. It provides a range of tools and features to help users analyze and compare audio files in various formats, including WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC and more. It also offers a Spectrum Viewer tool which allows users to visualize the frequency spectrum of their audio files in both linear and logarithmic scales. Spek has a wide range of features that allow users to make precise measurements of their audio files, including peak and RMS levels, harmonics, and total energy. It also allows users to adjust the amplitude and frequency range of their audio files and to set markers in order to identify specific sections of their audio files. In addition, Spek includes a spectrogram view which gives users an insight into the frequency and time domain of their audio files. Spek also offers a range of audio processing tools that allow users to modify their audio files, such as normalizing, volume adjusting and channel switching.
Audacity's spectrum analyzer is limited to 8 kHz, where high quality audio files require a much larger spectrum.
