Pygame is a Python library designed for making multimedia applications such as games. It is free and open source, and is compatible with Python versions 2.7 and 3.x. Pygame provides functions for drawing graphics, playing sounds, handling mouse and keyboard input, and other features associated with game development. The library can be used to develop games for multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Pygame comes with a number of modules, including sprites, fonts, sound, and graphics, which can be used to create a variety of game types, from basic arcade games to 3D first-person shooters. Pygame also includes a collection of tools and utilities for game development, including a level editor, sprite editor, and a library of sample games.
