Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software and storytelling tool used to create and deliver interactive presentations. It is designed to help users create professional-looking visuals, with an emphasis on engaging visuals and dynamic presentations. Prezi features a wide range of templates and themes, as well as a library of images, videos, and audio clips that can be used to create visually stunning presentations. It also allows users to add polls and quizzes to their presentations. Prezi also provides an online collaboration space, allowing users to share their presentations with others and work together on projects. Prezi is available for desktop, web, and mobile, making it easy to use on any device.
Creates zoomable presentations (as in Prezi) from SVG files that you need to create first (e.g. in Inkscape). The output is a small HTML file that runs in all modern browsers without Flash. Also, since Prezi uses SVG files, zooming is possible indefinitely and you won't be able to see ugly pixels.
Make the presentation the same way (zoom), an output file too small to run in a browser.
It is a very simple but powerful software instead of Prezi, which is a complex, heavy and lazy software. Prezi at the beginning was free but now you have to pay for it !!!!
Too limited! Not easy to use. Not really.
Linear and less powerful than Impress or Powerpoint (no embedded media, except YouTube videos).
It is a linear presentation software, which means that you cannot achieve a presentation as you can with Prezi.
Make engaging presentations using animation, stock assets, but also video. You get the benefit of Prezi without the vertigo effect and the added video. Plus, it's easier to use and you can export it as a free download to Facebook, YouTube or as a file for your own use. There are many competitors, but Moovly offers the best and most powerful free plan of all. I would start there and see if it fits.
Discontinued This software is no longer maintained.
Beautifully designed templates, many shapes and images to choose from, and you can also control your presentation via a cell phone or tablet. Another great feature is audience feedback.
Niftio is a great alternative to Prezi. The beauty of this tool is that it allows you to focus on the content of the presentations, and if you choose to present your slides, you can do so later using transitions and travel.
Fun, easy to create video-based presentations
Bundleware The installer contains adware and possibly also other malware. Be careful during installation: https://alternativeapp.info/discussions/applications/11718/be-careful-in-the-installation/
It is a better alternative when you are presenting in windows. Also, it is compatible with the presenter view.
Malfunctioning on Win8.1: problems with the cursor.
It deals with embedded videos and large multimedia presentations much better than Prezi, and has more animation options. You can also do interactivity (e.g. click on an object to jump to a slide) but I haven't experimented much with this. It can be a bit buggy though.
It works offline, has installers for Mac and Windows, like Prezi, and if you need an upgrade and access to resources, you can switch to a paid plan, also like Prezi.
No flash. Both linear and non-linear presentations possible, also in combination. Works on all platforms. Only requirement for presentation: modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Limitations: user interface can be improved. Current problems with some transitions in Google Chrome, minor display problems in Internet Explorer. Currently best performance with Firefox.

It is free, can be played in any web browser and can be used on Linux.
