Description

Pokémon GO is an augmented reality (AR) mobile game based on the Pokémon franchise. The game was developed by Niantic and released in July 2016. In the game, users use their smartphone's GPS capabilities to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon. The game utilizes a player's real-world location to generate nearby Pokémon and PokéStops, which are places where players can collect items such as Poké Balls, Potions, and Eggs. Players can also join teams and battle for control of Gyms, locations where players can battle each other. The game also has an in-game store where players can purchase items to help them progress. The game has been successful, becoming the most popular mobile game in the United States, and has been downloaded over 800 million times worldwide.
