Description

Ostinato is an open-source network packet/traffic generator and analyzer designed to help network engineers and developers quickly and easily create and analyze network traffic. Ostinato is designed to be used both as a standalone application and as a library for custom applications. It is platform independent and supports multiple OSes and hardware platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, BSD, Solaris, and more. Ostinato's features include the ability to generate and analyze a wide range of Layer 2, Layer 3 and Layer 4 protocols, packet filtering, packet modification, packet capture, packet playback, packet statistics and much more. Ostinato can be used to generate network traffic for performance and scalability testing, troubleshooting, security testing, and more. It can also be used to simulate a large number of users and devices, test VoIP/VoD applications, and assess the performance of applications and networks.
