Description

Opus Interactive Audio Codec is an open source, royalty-free audio codec designed to enable high quality and low latency audio streaming. It is a low bit-rate audio codec that is optimized for both speech and music applications, providing a wide range of audio quality levels and low latency for real-time applications. It supports a wide range of audio coding formats, including mono, stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, and can be used in a wide range of audio applications, including VoIP, Internet radio, video conferencing, streaming media, gaming, and more. It is based on the SILK speech codec from Skype and has been developed by the Xiph.Org Foundation, with contributions from hundreds of volunteers around the world.
