OpenELEC (Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center) is a distribution of the Linux operating system designed specifically to be used as a home theater PC (HTPC) software platform. It is a minimal Linux-based operating system that boots directly into the Kodi media center application. It contains just enough applications and services to allow it to boot and run Kodi media center. OpenELEC is designed to be lightweight, easy to use, and can be booted from a USB drive or SD card. It provides an easy and fast way to turn a computer into a powerful media center for music, videos, and photos. It also provides access to internet streaming content, including movies and TV shows.
