mRemoteNG is a free, open source, multi-protocol, remote connection manager for Windows. It allows users to connect to multiple remote computers simultaneously and manage them from a single interface. It supports a wide range of protocols, including RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), SSH (Secure Shell), VNC (Virtual Network Computing), ICA (Citrix Independent Computing Architecture), HTTP/HTTPS, and Telnet. It has a tabbed interface which allows users to quickly switch between different remote connections. It is highly customizable and supports advanced features such as port forwarding, SSH tunneling, and automatic logon. It also includes a built-in password manager, allowing users to securely store and manage credentials for multiple remote connections.
mRemote is multiprotocol, mobaxterm only SSH

mremote has a list of connections, tabs, etc., whereas this only opens a single connection.
Imo the best alternative to mRemoteNG so far is Linux / BSD only.
Remmina has always been my go-to application for RDP on Linux and it led me to find something better on Windows, i.e. mRemoteNG.
This is a client for the VNC protocol, mremoteng consolidates many different saved connections for many different protocols and opens them in a tabbed interface.

This is not an RDP client, it is a VNC client.
LogmeIn is a commercial remote access application, not an RDP manager.
mRemoteNG is a remote desktop connection application, Hyper is a terminal viewer for local shell.
It is terminal application, not rdp or ssh client.
Discontinued The project seems to be no longer developed. The latest version, 4.5.5.7, released in November 2015, can still be downloaded from the official website.
Like mRemoteNG, it integrates not only console connections such as Telnet or SSH, but also VNC and RDP connections. It also allows you to group and organize connections with folders.
Discontinued Last update appears to be from 2014: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44989

similar features and also includes a nice xserver
