Description

Midnight Commander is a free, open-source, text-mode file manager and visual shell created for Unix-like operating systems. It provides a powerful and user-friendly interface for file management, as well as a wide range of features that make managing files easier. It is based on a two-pane hierarchical view of directories, allowing users to navigate their local file system and perform various file operations. It is also capable of handling remote file systems and archives, allowing users to access and transfer files from FTP, SSH, and other remote hosts. Other features include a built-in editor, search and replace functions, built-in viewer for various text and binary files, support for customizing the display and sorting of files, and a built-in FTP client. It is commonly used by system administrators and power users, but it can be used by anyone.
