Microsoft Outlook Express is an email client and news reader software application that is included in the Microsoft Office suite. It is a powerful and user-friendly program that allows users to send and receive emails, manage contacts, and organize their emails into different folders. Outlook Express also provides users with a calendar, task manager, and address book. Additionally, Outlook Express can be used to read and post messages on newsgroups and to create mailing lists. It is compatible with POP3 and IMAP4 mail servers, and its user interface is simple and easy to use. Outlook Express is available for Windows Operating Systems and can be installed on both desktop and laptop computers.
It is also integrated in Opera 12, both on Windows and Linux.
Opera Mail is easy to use, lightweight and has no other features. It's close to Outlook Express and does the job very well because it doesn't bother you with a complicated interface. For me, it's the best alternative for home users, as they don't need advanced features.
Completely useless for anyone not using Windows 10, and if you use Windows 10 you are already loaded with it.
The discontinued Opera Mail is no longer updated and is no longer supported, but the latest version, 1.0.1044, released in February 2016, can still be downloaded from the official website.
